OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/19/2025, law enforcement officers including the U.S. Marshals Service Special Operations Group and the Washington State Patrol SWAT team were serving a nationwide arrest warrant at a home northeast of Tonasket in Okanogan County. The man being sought was wanted on counts of second-degree assault and intimidating a public servant. During the attempt to arrest him, officers encountered the man armed with a shotgun and gunfire occurred. He was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. The North Central Washington Special Investigations Unit is leading the investigation, and authorities have not publicly released the man’s identity or additional details about the exchange of gunfire.
