OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/19/2025, officers with the Ewing Township Police Department responded to a report of a stolen white Kia near Clover Avenue. Officer Edward Lester located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop and continued driving. Officers Charles Wyckoff and Jason Ulrich joined the pursuit in separate marked patrol vehicles. According to the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, the Kia was driven at a high rate of speed through city streets before running a red light at the intersection of Prospect Street and Parkway Avenue, where it struck a Subaru carrying four occupants. A juvenile passenger in the Subaru was ejected and later died from their injuries. After the collision, the Kia struck a traffic light pole, which fell onto the Kia and Officer Lester's patrol vehicle. The driver of the Kia, the remaining occupants of the Subaru, and Officer Lester sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.
