OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 02/13/2021, at approximately 10 p.m., U.S. Marshals were involved in a vehicle pursuit of a wanted individual in Pocatello. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed near North 6th Avenue and East Sublette Street. Two men exited the vehicle. Police reported that Brandon Steklein exchanged gunfire with deputy U.S. marshals, and marshals opened fire, killing him at the scene. The second individual fled but later surrendered to police without further incident.
