OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 05/26/2021, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report that a person had been shot on a boat in Holy Cross. Authorities identified Devyn Walker as the person suspected of shooting and killing 71-year-old Alden Gerald Walker Sr. Following the shooting, troopers reported that Walker barricaded himself inside a residence. Officers attempted to negotiate with him. According to troopers, Walker refused to surrender and fired a gun in the direction of law enforcement. At least one trooper then fired, shooting and killing Walker at the scene. No officers were charged, and no final prosecutorial outcome beyond the initial review was publicly reported.
