OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
A 43-year-old man made a false report to police about a burglary and when police arrived, they allege that he pointed a BB gun. Police allege that there had been no burglar and that he had made a false police report. It is unclear whether there had been a burglar and he had held the BB in self-defense which police may have mistaken as burglar or whether he had made a “false report” which police assumed when they arrived, shot him and found no burglar. The family struggled to make sense of the illogical and obviously incomplete story they were told and investigation is still ongoing.
