On 11/21/2025 at approximately 8:48 p.m., a Beresford Police Department officer attempted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Truck Towne Travel Plaza on Highway 46. The driver of the stopped vehicle was identified as Christopher John Pearson of Aurora, South Dakota. During the stop, an officer discharged a firearm and Pearson was pronounced dead at the scene. The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is conducting a full investigation.

On 11/21/2025 early in the morning, airport officers saw a man in an area where he was not permitted to be. Police reported that the man refused orders to leave and held a knife. Officers attempted to use Tasers but the man advanced toward them. An officer fired and killed him at the scene.

On 11/21/2025 at about 12:25 a.m., officers attempted a traffic stop near South Street and Sagamore Parkway for suspected impaired driving. The driver fled. Officers located the vehicle at a nearby apartment complex at approximately 1:16 a.m. The driver parked at the 200 block of Porsche Lane East and refused commands to surrender. Officers reported he told them he had a weapon then moved his hand toward his waistband. An officer shot him and he died at the scene.

On 11/21/2025, around midnight in Reseda, Los Angeles police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call near Sherman Way and Wilbur Avenue. On 11/21/2025 police chased a stolen vehicle through Alhambra at very fast speeds. The fleeing driver crashed into a police vehicle at the intersection. Gabriela Moreno was riding as a passenger and was ejected during the collision. She died at the scene.

On 11/20/2025, police in Washington Park attempted a traffic stop for suspected DUI and the driver refused to stop. Police escalated a chase across state lines into Sauget and then into downtown St. Louis at very fast speeds. The vehicle crashed at 6th Street and Washington Avenue and caught fire. Officers pulled out the driver, identified as twenty six year old Shontez Campbell, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died days later from the injuries.

On 11/19/2025, a Magnolia police officer encountered Michael Andre Greene on South Frederick Road during a patrol call. During the encounter, Greene was reported to have been holding a firearm. On 11/19/2025 deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded after a call that a 91-year-old man had been beaten with a brick. Kentae Govan allegedly then charged at deputies as they arrived. Officers opened fire and killed him at the scene.

On 11/18/2025, a man died after being shot by deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office in Marston, North Carolina. Deputies responded to a residence following a call about a domestic situation involving a person with outstanding warrants. No one answered the door, and deputies began to leave the area. Shortly afterward, deputies encountered the man driving nearby. According to law enforcement, the vehicle made contact with patrol vehicles during the encounter. On 11/17/2025, officers were at a homicide scene in Brownsville when DaShawn Larode opened the door of a nearby apartment and fired a gun, injuring an officer. Police opened fire and Larode retreated into the apartment. Officers later entered and found him dead from a gunshot wound.

On 11/17/2025, police officers responded around 10 p.m. to a call in the area of Broadway Avenue and Jones Road in Cleveland. They found Heaven Alisha Sharell Williams unresponsive in the road and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say a suspect struck her with a car and left the area. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

On 11/17/2025 officers responded to a domestic violence call that developed into a hostage situation. The mother called 911 stating that her son had a gun. A male voice then allegedly took over the call and said the woman was a hostage. Officers arrived and entered the scene. On 11/17/2025 troopers observed a Ford Mustang traveling over 120 mph on US 70 and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and police escalated a chase through multiple areas. The vehicle lost control on Pinkney Road and crashed into a tree. Braylen Newson was riding in the back seat and was ejected and killed.

On 11/17/2025 an officer observed a vehicle traveling 62 mph in a 30-mph zone and attempted a traffic stop. The driver did not stop and a pursuit began. The vehicle entered the wrong direction in a roundabout at Fifth Avenue South and University Drive South, crashed into a parked pickup truck and a light pole, and overturned. On 11/17/2025 deputies responded to a residence after the mother of the children fled with her five-year-old child and reported that her husband had threatened to kill her children. The two stepsons aged 14 and 16 were found inside the home having been shot. When deputies confronted Eric Grigsby outside the house he allegedly held two handguns and pointed them at officers. On 11/17/2025 officers attempted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima. The driver refused to stop and police escalated a chase. The vehicle left the roadway on Route 20, struck a ditch, struck a mailbox and two trees, became airborne and struck another mailbox. The driver died at the scene.

On 11/17/2025 in Pinehurst, Texas, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare-check involving Shane Moresco who was reported threatening suicide with a firearm at a cemetery in Magnolia. He evaded custody, traveled into neighboring Harris County, then barricaded himself inside a bathroom of a McDonald’s at 32323 Highway 249 in Pinehurst. During attempts to negotiate his surrender, Moresco fired a single shot and died at the scene. On 11/17/2025, two New York State Police troopers were conducting a traffic stop on Route 23 with emergency lights activated. Sharon L. Torres was driving a Kia westbound when her vehicle left the roadway and struck the rear of the parked patrol car, which then hit the stopped Subaru involved in the traffic stop. On 11/17/2025 at about 11:56 p.m., deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Porterville Police Department engaged a vehicle identified as stolen. The driver failed to stop and a pursuit occurred. The vehicle rammed a patrol car, then collided with another patrol unit and crashed into the yard of a home. The vehicle caught fire. One occupant of the stolen vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene; another occupant and a deputy were hospitalized.

On 11/17/2025, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were on patrol near the Deanwood Metro station after reports of gunfire in the area. They observed David Warren Childs with what appeared to be a firearm tucked into his waistband. When approached, Childs fled on foot and officers chased him to the 1200 block of 47th Place NE. On 11/16/2025, officers escalated a chase involving Tre’Sean L. Clemons in Shelby County. Police pursued the vehicle at high speed until Clemons crashed, and he died at the scene. A 19 year old female passenger from Piqua was seriously injured and was flown to Miami Valley Hospital. On 11/16/2025 at approximately 9:30 p.m. law-enforcement officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Benjamin Sink who was wanted on several charges related to a domestic relationship. When the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit ensued. The vehicle was disabled on the side of the road. Sink exited and allegedly opened fire on officers. Officers returned fire and struck him. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On 11/16/2025 at approximately 2:00 a.m. troopers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling over 100 mph on GA 204. The driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued. A trooper executed a second PIT maneuver which caused the vehicle to crash into a median wall and overturn. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

On 11/16/2025 officers with the Spokane Tribal Police attempted to make contact with a man who had active warrants. He fled on foot, jumped into the Spokane River and did not resurface. His body was located days later and he is presumed drowned.

On 11/15/2025, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance near South Topeka Boulevard and 113th Street in Carbondale. Within minutes of arriving officers were met with gunfire and returned fire. Stephen M. McMillan was shot and killed at the scene. Four officers were shot and injured and a seventy seven year old man at the residence was also injured. On 11/14/2025 a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper activated emergency lights after the driver cut off another vehicle. The driver continued driving and the chase moved through Knoxville. On 11/14/2025 just before 2 a.m., the Denver Police Department responded to a burglary-in-progress call at the Advenir at French Quarter apartments on S. Parker Road. Officers located a male inside a storage shed holding a large object that appeared to be a knife. They ordered him to drop it and exit. Instead he re-armed and advanced toward the officers and they discharged their weapons, striking and killing him.

Officers say at approximately 2:05 p.m. a man emerged from the business armed with an AK-47 style rifle and then ran back inside. Officers fired at the man and he barricaded himself inside the business. Just after 3:00 p.m., SWAT entered the building and found the man dead inside. No officers were reported injured.
