OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/04/2021, Denver police responded to reports of a man driving around Martin Luther King Jr. Park while firing a gun from a vehicle. Officers located Colton Frederic Wagner near 38th Avenue and Newport Street. Police ordered Wagner to drop the firearm. During the encounter, officers opened fire and shot Wagner. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Denver District Attorney later ruled the shooting justified. No officers were charged.
