OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/25/2021, officers from the California Highway Patrol and the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a disabled vehicle blocking the roadway near Parkway Drive and Sherwood Lane. Police stated that Robert Anderson was walking in the road holding a knife when officers arrived. Police alleged that Anderson moved toward officers, and an officer opened fire. Anderson was struck by gunfire and died.
