On August 22, 2021, Greenfield Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Tyron Christamar Lamb near the city's border with Milwaukee at 1:36 a.m. Lamb initially stopped the vehicle but then drove off, prompting a police pursuit. After about two miles, Lamb crashed the vehicle in Milwaukee and exited the car, reportedly starting to shoot at officers. Lamb struck a 36-year-old officer multiple times. In response, two officers involved in the pursuit opened fire and killed Lamb.

On 08/21/2021, deputies from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic dispute at 186 Maggie Lane in Allenhurst, Georgia. Deputies encountered Daryl Jay Carr at the residence and police stated the situation escalated into a hostage situation involving Carr’s wife and three children. A special response team was dispatched and negotiators secured the release of the three children. During ongoing negotiations, police stated Carr said he would shoot law enforcement if they attempted entry. At one point Carr’s wife exited the home by jumping from an upper floor onto a trampoline set up by officers during the negotiation process. After negotiations were no longer effective, the special response team deployed tear gas and a flash device to make entry. Police stated that while attempting entry, they encountered Carr on an upstairs landing and shots were fired. Carr was struck and transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center, where he later died. Authorities stated a firearm was located. An independent investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was underway at the time of reporting.

On August 21, 2021, deputies from the Rankin County Sheriff's Office responded to what was initially reported as a medical call but turned out to be a domestic disturbance. They discovered Shannon Trevor McKinley had an outstanding felony warrant for domestic violence. McKinley was located in the attic of the residence and refused to comply with police commands to surrender. While attempting to climb down to escape, he fired a handgun at the deputies, who then shot and killed him.

On 08/21/2021 officers pursued a wanted person in Guadalupe. During the encounter Officer Miguel Jaimes fired at the individual. A bullet ricocheted and traveled into a parked vehicle where Juan Luis Olvera Preciado was sitting. He was struck by the gunfire and died at the scene.

About 7:30 p.m., police received reports of a person looking into vehicle windows. An officer responded to the area where he found Brandon Lee Schlichting. When the officer tried to contact Schlichting, Schlichting allegedly pulled a gun and aimed it at the officer, who shot and killed him.

On 08/20/2021 Krista Richter was driving with her husband when an off duty detention deputy from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office drove his personal vehicle at 109 miles per hour and struck the left side of her car at North Dale Mabry Highway and Sligh Avenue. Richter died at the scene and her husband suffered serious injuries. Prosecutors later charged the deputy with vehicular homicide and reckless driving for causing the crash.

Nicolas "Nico" Matthew Romero, 18, was killed in a crash at the intersection of NM-68 and NM-518 in Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico. Taos County sheriff's deputies were pursuing Joshua Maestas, who allegedly fled while officers attempted to arrest him for violating parole. Please continue the high-speed chase until the vehicle crashed into Romero, killing him.

On 08/19/2021, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a burglary involving a firearm in Selawik, Alaska. Troopers later made contact with two people connected to the report. According to police statements, Douglas Brown Jr. was armed with a shotgun during the encounter. Trooper Joshua Rallo fired, killing Brown at the scene. The incident was reported as under investigation, and no troopers were charged.
