OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/26/2021, officers from the Nampa Police Department responded to a report involving a man accused by police of pointing a firearm at another driver and following them while holding a gun. Police stated that officers later located Vladislav Fomin near South Banner Street and approached him. Police alleged that Fomin pointed a gun toward officers. Officers opened fire and shot Fomin. He died from gunshot wounds. The shooting was later reviewed by the prosecuting attorney and an incident review team, both of which ruled the killing justified.
