Police stated Christopher Thomas Vaughan became agitated after a court ruling and moved toward the judge’s bench before being stopped by deputies. Police alleged Vaughan then attempted to take a bailiff’s firearm. A Roxboro police officer opened fire and shot and killed Vaughan inside the courthouse.
