On 09/23/2021, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a man with a firearm pointing it toward vehicles and people at a park in Lancaster. Sheriff’s officials stated a helicopter located the man, who entered a vehicle and drove away. Deputies said the man pointed a firearm toward the helicopter and toward deputies after stopping. Deputies opened fire and killed Barry John Ross.
