On 12/25/2021, Gaudencio Gerardo Luna-Vasquez, 52, died when the vehicle he was riding in crashed into a tree while fleeing U.S. Border Patrol agents in eastern San Diego County. Residents reported that 48-year-old Jessie Lee Gaither IV had driven his truck into the front of a residence, causing substantial damage. The chase concluded when a Calhoun County deputy executed a maneuver to stop Laxton's car by ramming into it. Laxton then fled on foot, armed with a handgun, and attempted to enter an occupied home near Oak Hill Drive and Willow Street in Battle Creek. Officer Christof Klein of the Battle Creek Police Department ordered Laxton to drop the weapon, but Laxton turned towards Klein with the gun, prompting Klein to shoot and kill him.

On 12/21/2021, Savannah Police investigated an aggravated assault involving a stolen vehicle and stopped the vehicle without locating Shawn Martin. The driver directed officers to a residence on Vassar Street connected to him. Officers entered and searched the home and located Martin inside a closet while he held a knife. Officers issued commands and Martin moved out of the closet holding the knife. Two officers opened fire and struck him. He died inside the residence. Authorities initiated review of the shooting and reported no criminal charges against the officers.

On December 21, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies from the Rankin County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding a drug overdose at 856 Isobel Dean Street, Brandon, Mississippi. Upon arrival, they found Robert Rigby Rushton stuck in mud inside his vehicle. As Rushton exited the vehicle, he was observed holding a knife in each hand. Despite commands from deputies to drop the knives, Rushton advanced towards them, resulting in the deputies discharging their firearms, fatally shooting him.

On 12/21/2021, the Cincinnati Police Department responded to an armed robbery reported at the Eagle Savings Bank around 10:30 a.m. Police located Brennan Love Ball within an hour near Wasson Way and Montgomery Road.

On December 21, 2021, at approximately 6:52 p.m., Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a residence on Larry Cook Road in Pitkin, Louisiana, following reports of a woman threatening to harm herself. Upon arrival, a man exited the residence and informed deputies that 44-year-old Chantel Jean Myers was inside, threatening to shoot herself. He also reported that Myers had fired a shot inside the home before their arrival and provided deputies with a note believed to be a suicide note. Deputies escalated a standoff with a noisy public address system, which caused her to hide inside and make threats toward approaching officers. After she exited the home with a gun and walked toward police, she positioned herself between two parked patrol cars with a gun allegedly pointed at a deputy. The deputy opened fire and killed her. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Vernon Parish Coroner’s Office.

On 12/21/2021, Brendan Patrick Pinkston was reported to 911 for allegedly trespassing with a gun in Burton, Michigan. He had left the property by the time law enforcement arrived. Four officers, three from the Burton Police Department and one from the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, responded to the scene. When they located Pinkston, he fled on foot and allegedly fired at the officers, injuring Burton Police Officer Dalton Christie and Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Fachting. Officers returned fire, resulting in Pinkston's death.

On 12/20/2021, Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to arrest Robert Alan Beach II after he cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor. Deputies attempted a traffic stop. Beach did not stop. Deputies escalated a vehicle pursuit that continued through parts of Spartanburg County. The pursuit ended near Highway 29 in Wellford where Beach barricaded himself inside his vehicle. Deputies surrounded the vehicle and deployed tear gas in an effort to take him into custody. During the standoff, Beach shot himself. He died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound. Deputies did not open fire during the final encounter. Authorities reported Beach was wanted on outstanding warrants at the time.

On December 20, 2021, at approximately 4:10 a.m., uniformed officers from the New York City Police Department responded to reports of a man armed with a knife and a gun near 1090 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, New York. Upon arrival, officers observed Eudes Pierre, 26, holding a knife in one hand while keeping his other hand concealed in his coat pocket.

A foot pursuit ensued, during which officers attempted to incapacitate Pierre using Tasers, but the efforts were reportedly unsuccessful. According to police, Pierre then rushed at the officers while armed with a folding knife with a three-inch blade. Officers discharged their firearms, fatally striking Pierre.

On 12/20/2021, Will County deputies searched for Alexander Wheeler after reports that he shot a family member and drove away. Deputies located his vehicle and attempted a stop and Wheeler continued driving while deputies chased the vehicle. The pursuit ended near Wind Crest Lane where Wheeler exited the vehicle and moved toward deputies. Deputies deployed a Taser and then opened fire when he continued advancing toward them. Wheeler died on the roadway. Authorities initiated review of the shooting and reported no criminal charges against deputies.

On 12/20/2021 Patrick Enos Jr., father of four who enjoyed hunting, fishing and repairing cars, ran a red light and was speeding when he collided with another driver on Highway 11 near Kipimana Street on Hawai‘i Island. Enos’ family believes that a police pursuit of his vehicle was a major contributing factor to the crash and that the chase should have been terminated under existing pursuit policies. Investigations remain ongoing and the family has retained an attorney to determine police liability. Four years later, the family is searching for answers. Police reportedly will not admit they chased him and caused the fatal crash but eyewitnesses confirmed this.
