Johnstown PD responded to an emergency call for an assault in progress at a home on Washington Street in Johnstown, NY. Nathan K. Wood, 28, reportedly entered an upstairs apartment without permission. When the property owner who resides in the downstairs apartment told him to leave, Wood struck him multiple times with a hammer, causing serious injuries. Johnstown PD arrived and confronted Wood who struck the police officer with the hammer. The Johnstown Police officer shot and killed him.
