On 12/27/2021, Houston Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 3500 block of Corder Street around 2:41 a.m. Officers encountered Christopher Johnson on the roadway wearing a tactical vest and holding a firearm. Officers issued commands and positioned themselves behind patrol vehicles. Police reported Johnson fired toward officers. Officers opened fire and struck him. He died on the roadway. Authorities documented recovery of firearms from the area and transferred the case for internal and external review consistent with departmental policy.
