On 12/20/2021, Yorkville Police and paramedics responded to a medical call at a residence on Leisure Street around 8:40 p.m. While personnel provided assistance inside the home, Marc Barnhart produced a firearm. Officers opened fire during the confrontation and struck him. He died inside the residence. Authorities initiated review of the shooting and reported no criminal charges against involved officers.
