OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/17/2021, deputies searched for Jeremy Alexander Yates after issuance of an emergency custody order and information that he might be armed. Deputies located his vehicle near Slate Mills Road and Reva Road and he continued driving while deputies chased the vehicle. Police reported gunfire from his vehicle struck patrol vehicles during the pursuit. Deputies opened fire during the confrontation and struck him. He died on the roadway. The Commonwealth’s Attorney reviewed the shooting and determined the use of force complied with law.
