On 12/17/2021, an off duty Cicero police officer drove along Northern Boulevard and struck Chatuma M. Crawford as he entered the roadway to retrieve a dropped cell phone. The collision occurred on a poorly lit stretch of roadway while Crawford wore dark clothing. He died from injuries caused by the impact.
