OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 11/18/2021, Santa Rosa Police Department officers responded to reports of possible gunfire near Peach Court and located Jordon Pas outside while he was holding an object later identified as a rock. Officers deployed conducted energy weapons multiple times, forced him to the ground, restrained him, and detained him as he bled from head injuries sustained during the encounter. Pas became unresponsive and died shortly afterward. The death was later ruled a homicide associated with restraint and force used during arrest, prosecutors declined charges, and civil litigation by family members resulted in a multimillion dollar settlement.
