OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 11/17/2021, multiple law enforcement agencies responded to reports of Brian Jessee behaving erratically with children inside a residence at 118 Sunny Point Circle. Officers surrounded the home and maintained an extended standoff during which gunfire was exchanged between Jessee and officers. Officers deployed chemical agents into the residence and a fire began inside the structure. After firefighters extinguished the blaze, officers entered and found Jessee dead inside. Investigators later concluded the death resulted from the confrontation and fire conditions, prosecutors declined charges against officers, and review of the incident extended over several years due to the multi agency response and complexity of the scene.
