OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/18/2021, Los Angeles Police responded to reports of a man threatening to harm himself and others with a knife near East Adams Boulevard. Officers contacted Margarito Lopez outside the residence while he possessed the knife and attempted to detain him. Officers opened fire during the confrontation and struck him. He died near the residence. Authorities initiated review of the shooting and reported no criminal charges against officers.
