On 12/03/2021, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex at 276 Union Boulevard and entered the property to investigate. Officers encountered Michael Graves inside the complex while he was holding a firearm. Gunfire occurred during the confrontation and officers shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
