On 05/21/2021, Henry County Sheriff’s deputies and additional agencies responded to a residence after reports of an armed confrontation and surrounded the property. Officers evacuated nearby areas, blocked access routes, and maintained containment while attempting negotiation during the extended standoff. Police deployed tactical units and escalated the operation after the armed man refused to exit and gunfire occurred during the confrontation. Officers opened fire and killed him at the scene, ending the multi-agency response.
