Upon arrival, police were contacted by a victim who stated that a man was armed with a knife. Officers encountered Ashton Pinke at the side of the apartment building, where he reportedly charged at them while armed with a knife and a club. Two officers shot and killed Pinke.

On 05/04/2021, Camden County Sheriff’s Office deputies served a drug-related search warrant at a residence near US-17 and Kinlaw Road in Woodbine. On May 3, 2021, 32-year-old Brandon Lee Shockley Sr. was pursued by law enforcement officers from Indiana into Illinois. Shockley was wanted for attempted homicide.

At around 2:55 a.m., Ford County dispatch sent a be-on-the-lookout for a person wanted in Garden City who allegedly was involved in a stabbing. Gray County deputies located Luis Salgado's vehicle at around 3:17 a.m. The deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but Luis Salgado continued driving. Deputies escalated a chase into Ford County, where Ford County deputies joined the chase at 3:24 a.m. Spike strips were deployed west of Dodge City, deflating one of the tires. Salgado continued driving east into Dodge City before veering off the roadway, striking a power pole, and rolling several times. He was ejected and died at the crash site.

On 05/02/2021, David Earle Hartenstein, 39, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was traveling northbound in the southbound travel lanes on NH-101. The call reported that Anthony Williams, a 58-year-old male, was intoxicated, threatening suicide, and discharging a firearm in his home. On April 28, 2021, at approximately 5:16 a.m., officers from the Lake Charles Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at a hotel located at 1000 North Lakeshore Drive in Lake Charles, Louisiana. On 04/28/2021, a deputy from the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a home in the 6500 block of South Edon Road in Reading, Michigan, following a complaint about a dog at large. On April 28, 2021, New York State Police identified Barry K. Stewart, 55, concerning a double homicide at BridgeView Real Estate Services in Watertown, New York. A State Police K9 unit spotted Stewart's vehicle, a gray 2020 Ford F-150 pickup truck, on Route 11B in Dickinson, Franklin County. When troopers attempted a traffic stop, Stewart's vehicle left the roadway. A 2007 Scion driven by a man fleeing law enforcement entered the intersection and collided with a 2003 Honda Accord occupied by Sariah Sheppards and others. Sheppards was transported to Renown Medical Center and later died from her injuries. Officers spotted a possibly stolen Ford F-150 pickup truck on John Ralston Boulevard and attempted to pull the driver over. The driver fled, and a police chase ensued for about four minutes. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed, causing the truck to burst into flames. The driver was killed in the crash.

On 04/27/2021, Bakersfield police shot and killed 20 year old Dalton James Gerrit Kooiman following an attempted traffic stop in southeast Bakersfield. Police attempted to stop a vehicle they said was stolen. The driver did not stop and continued driving before crashing the vehicle near Feliz Drive.
After the crash, officers attempted to take Kooiman into custody. During the encounter that followed, police stated that Kooiman fired a weapon toward officers. Officers opened fire and killed him at the scene.
The Kern County District Attorney reviewed the shooting and ruled the use of deadly force justified. No officers were charged.

On 04/26/2021, El Paso police restrained and killed 40 year old Daniel Diaz, Jr. during a response to a reported possible break-in at a residence on Buckner Street. Officers encountered Diaz experiencing what family and reporting described as a panic attack. As an officer attempted to speak with him, police deployed a Taser. Additional officers arrived and took Diaz to the ground. During the arrest, multiple officers struck Diaz while attempting to restrain him.
After officers placed Diaz in handcuffs, they observed that he was no longer responsive. Diaz was transported for medical care and died a short time later. The death was ruled a homicide. A departmental review board later exonerated the officers involved, and no criminal charges were filed.
