On 09/22/2021, Cobb County Police responded to reports of a domestic dispute and shots fired at a home on the 5900 block of Brinkley Road in Powder Springs after police said Jeffrey Lawrence Bishop argued with family members, the dispute turned physical, and he had a gun and fired at relatives. Police said two relatives got out and called 911, and officers escalated to a SWAT response and crisis negotiation effort because police said they could not confirm whether another family member, Lillian Bishop, was out of the home. After hours of negotiations, SWAT entered the home and found Lillian Bishop dead from a gunshot, and police said they found Jeffrey Lawrence Bishop dead elsewhere in the home with what police described as an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
