OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 09/04/2021, Unified Police responded to a home near 3900 South and Highland Drive after a man went to the Millcreek police substation and reported gunfire at the house. Police said officers arrived, heard continuing gunfire, and entered the home while shots continued to remove an elderly woman and get her to safety. Police said SWAT and crisis negotiators tried for hours to communicate with Jacob Andrew LeGrande. Police said he fired repeatedly from inside the home, including at police equipment, and police said officers did not fire during the standoff. Police later sent a drone inside and found LeGrande dead inside the home along with Bonne Rachelle Brady, 54, and Timothy Andrew LeGrande, 53. Police said Brady and Timothy LeGrande were dead before police arrived. Police said investigators worked to determine when and how LeGrande died, and later reporting stated he took his own life during the standoff.
