OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/16/2021, officers responded to a trespassing report and encountered Dawn Marie Simpson seated in a vehicle at a residence. Police ordered her out of the car and she drove away, striking a patrol vehicle. Officers pursued her to the 500 block of Mulberry Loop where gunfire was exchanged and officers opened fire, striking Simpson. She was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead from gunshot wounds. Simpson was 51 and from Nampa. The Idaho State Police investigated the shooting.
