On 05/12/2021, League City police responded to a reported home invasion at a residence on Westwood Drive and discovered 35-year-old Erica Allen fatally shot outside. Witnesses reported her husband, Nicholas Ray Allen, fired the shots and retreated into the home with two children inside. Officers secured the scene and deployed a tactical team after failing to establish contact. When police entered the residence hours later, Allen was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
