On 04/10/2021, police responded to a domestic shooting at a residence on Massachusetts Avenue in Riverside where Christian Herrera fatally shot his partner in front of their children and barricaded himself inside. Officers established containment and attempted contact. Herrera later shot himself and died inside the residence. Reporting confirmed he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during the police response.
