On 01/11/2022, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers initiated a pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle through west Charlotte. The driver continued driving and officers escalated the chase. During the pursuit, the fleeing vehicle crashed at the intersection of Tuckaseegee Road and Daleview Drive. Fifty-two-year-old Micky Brown, an uninvolved motorist, was killed in the collision. Two passengers in Brown’s vehicle sustained serious injuries. Authorities reviewed the pursuit under department policy.
