On 03/14/2022, Fort Myers Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Stockton Street in Fort Myers. Officers encountered Randall Dunmire inside the residence holding a firearm. According to police, Dunmire raised the firearm toward officers during the encounter. Officers opened fire and shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began an independent investigation into the shooting.
