On 03/18/2022, Mobile Police Department officers attempted to stop a vehicle near Government Street and Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile. Officers initiated the stop and contacted the driver. According to police, the driver exited the vehicle holding a firearm. Officers opened fire and shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency opened an investigation into the shooting.
