On 03/18/2022, Bozeman Police Department officers responded to reports of an armed individual near Frontage Road and Valley Spur Road. Officers located the man in the area. According to police, the man was holding a firearm and raised it toward responding officers. Officers opened fire and shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Montana Department of Criminal Investigation responded and opened an investigation into the shooting.
