OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/24/2022, Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded after a shooting on Rollins Road in Knoxville that sent one man to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Deputies used a vehicle description from witnesses to locate another man at a nearby home on Lugar Road, where he stayed inside for hours while deputies and SWAT tried to make contact. Sheriff Tom Spangler said the situation appeared domestic like. After about four hours, the man shot himself inside the home and died.
