OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/23/2022, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a welfare check at a home in the 13600 block of Hofma Court in Grand Haven. Deputies encountered a woman inside the residence during the call. Deputies opened fire during the encounter and shot her. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Michigan State Police began an independent investigation into the shooting.
