OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 03/26/2022, South Fulton Police Department officers responded to a reported murder and missing person call at a home in the 3400 block of Sable Chase Lane. Officers entered the residence and located a woman deceased from a gunshot wound. Police identified Kenneth Southern as the suspect and found him barricaded in the attic of the home. Officers established a perimeter and deployed crisis negotiators and SWAT personnel. During the standoff, Southern shot himself. Officers later located him deceased inside the attic. Authorities stated the case began as a missing person investigation before escalating into a homicide scene and armed standoff.
