OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/28/2022, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at the Riviera Mobile Home Park near the 2000 block of Palm Street in Las Vegas. Officers located Michael Allensworth inside the park during their response. Police stated Allensworth pointed a firearm during the encounter. Officers James Villareal, Johnathan Cole, and Beau Cooley fired their weapons and shot him. Officers transported Allensworth to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. LVMPD later released body camera footage and identified the involved officers.
