On 04/10/2022, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at 122 Emerald Drive in Palm Coast involving a firearm. Dispatchers received reports that a woman had fired shots inside the home during a dispute. Deputies entered the residence and encountered Julie Demers. According to the sheriff’s office, Demers was armed during the confrontation. Deputies opened fire and shot her. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement initiated an independent investigation into the shooting.
