On 04/16/2022, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 9200 block of Spruce Road in Pinon Hills after receiving reports that a man was firing a gun. Deputies located Rocky Romer outside a residence. Deputies confronted him and opened fire during the encounter, striking and killing him at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigations Division assumed investigative responsibility for the shooting.
