On 04/24/2022, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to 1706 Countryside Drive on a disturbance call. Officers encountered Dean Thomas Farmer outside the residence. Officers reported that he was holding a firearm during the encounter. Officers discharged their weapons and struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Indiana State Police assumed investigative responsibility for the shooting.
