On 04/21/2022, Evans Police Department officers responded to the 4300 block of 37th Street on a disturbance call. Officers encountered Manuel Moreno during the response. Officers reported that he was holding a firearm during the encounter. Officers discharged their weapons and struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team assumed investigative responsibility for the shooting.
