Officer Anthony Garcia fired multiple shots through the windshield and killed Corrales.

St. George PD where initially sent to a disorderly conduct call when they noticed Oscar Alcantara entering a vehicle with another driver. Police stopped the vehicle and the driver ran away. He allegedly told police that Alcantara had a gun and was in the vehicle with her infant. The man then drove away at a very rapid speed. Police escalated a lengthy chase, and Alcantara finally stopped and ran into the open field with the infant. Police called him by cell phone and reported that he threatened to kill the infant and was seen pointing a gun at the at that point police fired high-powered rifles and killed him with the infant in his arms.
