On 05/02/2022, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers went to 32910 E Oak Hill School Road near Oak Grove while assisting in an investigation connected to a separate law enforcement matter. Troopers encountered a man at the residence. Authorities reported that Chewas armed with a firearm during the confrontation. Troopers fired their weapons and shot him. He died at the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control handled the investigation.
