On 05/07/2022, Wenatchee Police Department officers responded to reports of a man firing a gun near 11 N Chelan Ave. Officers located Alexander James White and engaged him in a gunfire exchange after he fired a pistol toward officers. Officers Corey Fuller, Brian Hewitt, and Aly Mustain fired multiple rounds and killed him. One officer sustained a gunshot wound during the exchange. The Washington State Patrol led the investigation.
