On 05/19/2022, Ross County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 14000 block of Westfall Rd in Chillicothe for a report of an armed man. Deputies encountered Lowell Earles outside a residence and opened fire during the encounter, striking and killing him. Deputies secured the scene and requested an independent investigation. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation assumed control of the case and processed evidence at the scene.
