OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 05/28/2022, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and New York State Police Special Response Team units responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Meadow Road in Hudson Falls. Deputies located David Greenwood, 59, in the backyard of a residence. Greenwood fired a pistol toward officers multiple times during an eight-hour standoff. State Police tactical teams remained on scene. Greenwood was later found dead inside the home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while officers were positioned outside. No law enforcement personnel fired shots that struck him; the death was ruled a suicide under active police duress during the standoff.
