On 06/23/2022, the Orlando Police Department’s Fugitive Investigative Unit and U.S. Marshals Service responded to the Mosaic at Millenia apartments on Conroy Road for a felony suspect reported to be inside. Officers made contact and the subject, later identified as 36-year-old Michael Green (also known as Michael Edwards), barricaded himself inside an apartment and made suicidal threats during the encounter. SWAT and crisis negotiation teams spent more than five hours attempting to get Green to surrender. When officers entered the apartment at approximately 7:24 p.m., they found Green deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police did not fire their weapons during the incident. Green had been wanted out of Albany County, New York after fleeing before the verdict was read in his attempted murder and weapons conviction. The incident was reviewed by law enforcement and reported as a fugitive standoff with suicide.
