On 07/27/2022, deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, including members of the SWAT team, responded to 12 Camino Oro Drive in Tijeras to serve an arrest warrant.
According to the New Mexico State Police, deputies encountered Saul "Tony" Lujan during the operation. Police stated that Lujan was armed during the encounter, and deputies opened fire, striking him. Lujan died at the scene.
