On 08/21/2022, Mount Healthy Police Department officers responded to a custody dispute at a Lakeknoll Drive apartment in Mount Healthy, near Cincinnati. During the encounter, shots were heard from inside a bedroom. Officers entered the apartment and located a 6-year-old girl deceased from a gunshot wound. Authorities determined she had been shot and killed by her father, Eric Johnson Sr, who subsequently died by suicide inside the residence as officers continued the incident response.
