OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 09/27/2022, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force identified a wanted person in Roanoke County vehicle traffic and initiated a traffic stop near Crossbow Court off Route 220. As task force members approached the vehicle, they heard a single gunshot. Task force members found Joshua R. Donahue with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported by EMS to a hospital and later died from his wounds. No law enforcement members discharged their weapons during the encounter.
